How does it work?

It is often said that a ground cable must be very thick, or that a litz is needed for the best result. In fact, both will help a little, but won't make a huge difference. There are actually two important aspects that underlie a good ground cable:

  • Good conductivity

It is important that there is good conductivity not only for low-frequency currents, but also for high-frequency currents. The better the conductivity, the lower the noise floor becomes.

  • Shielding

Since a cable is also an antenna that receives electromagnetic radiation (EMR), effective shielding makes a big difference.

The Nexum G-series has an excellent conductivity up to 12 GHz and is equipped with an active shield. This can significantly lower the noise floor in an audio system, which improves the sound quality.

“Earth is the reference in an audio system”

As the Earth is used as a reference in an audio system, a good  connection to the Earth is crucial for optimal sound reproduction. Usually the protective Earth from the mains outlet is used for Grounding the audio system through the power cords.

The use of a separate dedicated Earth however, will in most cases result in a significant improvement of the sound reproduction.
