My Journey with the Haandrikman Sygnus X-2


I recently purchased the Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 to replace my Audes ST 1500 dc after more than three years of use. At first, I didn't notice a significant difference in sound quality. This led me to question whether I had made the right choice in buying the X-2. The hifi dealer assured me that I would immediately hear the difference between the Audes and the Haandrikman. However, that wasn’t the case for me initially.


To ensure I made the right decision, I negotiated with the dealer to keep the X-2 for an additional two weeks. This time was crucial for the X-2 to "settle in" and adapt to my hifi setup.


The Break-In Period


By the end of that third week, everything changed. The Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 truly outperformed my beloved Audes! I was genuinely amazed by the transformation.


What a calmness in the soundstage! This calmness allowed for more nuances in the mid and high frequencies. The soundstage expanded, and the instruments sounded more natural. Simply beautiful! The bass also became incredibly tight—something I never thought possible. I had seriously considered replacing my speakers before I purchased the X-2. Thankfully, I held off on that decision.


The Impact on My Hifi Setup


In short, the Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 is an excellent upgrade for your entire hifi chain. It effectively cleans up your power supply, which is essential for achieving the best sound quality.

Ik heb onlangs de Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 aangeschaft die na ruim drie jaar een Audes ST 1500 dc heeft vervangen. In eerste instantie vond ik het verschil qua geluid niet zo groot en heb eerst even getwijfeld of ik de X-2 zou aanschaffen. De hifi dealer waar ik de X-2 heb gekocht wist mij te vertellen dat ik gelijk het verschil tussen de Audes en de Haandrikman zou horen, maar dat was in mijn geval echter niet zo. Ik heb toen met de dealer afgesproken dat ik de X-2 nog twee weken extra mocht houden ter vergelijking, maar vooral -en dat is zeker belangrijk- dat de X2 zou “ wennen” in mijn hifi setup.


Aan het eind van die derde week begon het duidelijk te worden… de Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 speelde echt mijn geliefde Audes weg!! Ik was echt verbaasd.


Wat een rust in het geluidsbeeld en daardoor meer nuances in het midden en hoog. Een grotere stage en de instrumenten klonken natuurlijker. Prachtig gewoon. Maar ook het laag werd strakker, rete strak!!( sorry voor mijn taal gebruik). Ik wist niet dat mijn speakers zo mooi konden klinken! Ik heb echt overwogen die speakers te vervangen vóórdat ik de X-2 had aangeschaft! Gelukkig niet gedaan.


Kortom de Haandrikman Sygnus X-2 is een uitstekende upgrade voor je hele hifi keten inclusief het opschonen van je stroom.


O ja, mijn hifi setup is hierboven in de foto weergegeven en bestaat uit:

  • Luxman 507z versterker,

  • Luxman D-03x cd speler met upgrade synergestic fuses,

  • Transrotor Zet 3 platenspeler met TMD lager upgrade en Konstant M1 Reference power supply en Origin live Conqueror tone arm en Van den Hul colibri XGW Stradivarius mc element,

  • RCM Sensor2 mk2 phono stage met Furutech upgrade,

  • QLN Prestige One speakers met Cryogeen behandelde speaker kabels van Driade flow Reference 808 met ook cryogeen behandelde Driade Flow 808 xlr interlinks.

  • De power kabels zijn de Haandrikman Nexum HQ power kabels voor versterker, de X2 en voor de Cd speler.

  • en de Haandrikman Nexum Earth kabel.


Tot slot zou ik iedereen, die serieus bezig is met hifi en zijn muziek keten naar een hoger en stiller niveau wil tillen, de Haandrikman producten aanbevelen. Ik ben zeer ingenomen en tevreden.
