The Nexum HQ Earth Cable is designed to provide a stable, low-impedance earth connection for high-end audio systems.
In any audio system, Earth forms an important electrical reference. Standard grounding connections are primarily designed for electrical safety and are not necessarily optimized for the handling of high-frequency interference. The Nexum HQ Earth Cable combines carefully selected conductor materials, insulation and extensive shielding to create a high-quality connection between your equipment and the system’s central earth point.
The Foundation of Reference
An effective Earth connection is about more than conductor cross-section alone. Low electrical resistance is important, but conductor geometry, shielding and the quality of the connections also influence the behaviour of the cable at higher frequencies.
The Nexum HQ Earth Cable has therefore been developed as a dedicated grounding cable for high-end audio systems, with particular attention to low impedance, shielding and mechanical stability.
The Architecture
The Nexum HQ Earth Cable uses a carefully considered multi-layer construction. Every element — from the central conductor and dielectric materials to the shielding and connectors — has been selected with the objective of providing a stable, low-impedance earth connection while minimizing the pickup of electromagnetic interference.
1. Silver-Plated Solid Core Conductor
The Nexum HQ Earth Cable uses a high-purity, silver-plated solid-core conductor. The combination of conductor geometry and material is selected to provide low electrical impedance across a wide frequency range.
2. Dual-Layer Fluoropolymer Insulation
The conductor is insulated using high-grade PTFE, combined with a robust FEP outer jacket. These fluoropolymer materials provide excellent electrical properties together with high mechanical and thermal stability.
3. Ultra High-Density Shielding
An Earth cable can also pick up electromagnetic interference from its surroundings. The Nexum HQ Earth Cable therefore incorporates a high-density shield designed to reduce the influence of external RFI and EMI on the grounding connection.

In a high-fidelity audio system, Earth provides an important electrical reference. The protective Earth connection in a domestic installation is primarily designed for safety and is shared by many different electrical devices. As a result, high-frequency interference generated by switch-mode power supplies, digital equipment, solar inverters and other electronics can also be present on the protective Earth system.
A carefully implemented grounding arrangement can help control these unwanted currents. The Nexum HQ Earth Cable is designed to provide a high-quality, low-impedance connection between the individual components and a central earth point.
When used in combination with the Sygnus Balanced Power Supply, the Nexum HQ Earth Cable can form part of a structured star-grounding arrangement in which grounding connections are brought together at a defined central point.

Why do I need a dedicated Earth cable if my power cables are already earthed?
The protective Earth connection of a power cable is primarily designed for electrical safety. In an audio system, the same Earth network can also carry high-frequency interference generated by other connected equipment. A dedicated, low-impedance grounding connection can be used as part of a carefully arranged grounding system to help control these unwanted currents.
How do I know which Earth cable I need?
This depends on the equipment you want to connect, the available grounding points and the overall grounding architecture of your system. Rather than offering a fixed set of configurations, we prefer to discuss your system first and recommend the most appropriate solution.
My component doesn't have a dedicated ground terminal. Can it still be connected?
In many cases this is possible. Depending on the design of the component, alternative connection methods may be available. We can assess the available connections and advise which solution is electrically appropriate for your equipment.
Does the length of the Earth cable matter?
Cable length influences both electrical impedance and the practical routing of the grounding connection. We therefore prefer to select the length according to the individual system rather than treating one particular length as universally optimal.
